O.K. it's pretty official. Not only are we a voyeuristic society but we also love seeing someone just self destruct. What the hell is going on these days? Every time I put on the television to get some quality news---there is a breaking story about Britney at the Deli, Britney and her new paparazzi boy toy or she is the brunt of every joke on late night television. Now, if I am watching entertainment tonight--well of course I should expect to see such news...but, on Jeopardy, ABC Nightly News and Larry King---that's when I have to draw the line and say WHAT THE BLEEP!!!!! Listen up---we are all human and yes, it's obvious there are some underlying issues there that could be both mental and physical. I feel like we are living in an angry society that takes pleasure in seeing someone fall from grace. In some sick way it makes people feel better about their own boring and quite possibly pathetic lives. Where do we draw the line----and when do Americans stop thinking it's o.k. for these actors to get stalked the way they do. I live in NYC and you see your share of famous people here---but to a native New Yorker--it's "No Big Thing" it's just part of what makes our landscape so fabulous!!! If I were going to work in the a.m. and had ten guys following me --I'll bet your next Starbucks run I would be calling the NYC Cops and since I am an average NYC Diva they would more than likely ask me what I would like to do to remedy the stalking problem. The point I am trying to make is --everything in moderation. Yes, it comes with the turf and they should toughen up and expect that this is part of the territory---but, this is going to a whole other scary level. In closing, if half the world's real problems had as much publicity as these Hollywood stars...the world would be a better place.
So as our soldiers fight in Iraq, children continue to die around the world from starvation and our U.S. Obesity rate continues to rise---
YOUR Papa-Stalkers will make sure that none of these real issues continue to make front and center headlines as long as we continue to read these Old Hag Mags while sipping our Starbucks latte.
Stay True and Always Be The Best You!
